French Macarons - 1st Attempt

My very first attempt in making french macarons.. after reading horror stories of how tedious and hard making macarons can be I was abit scared and reluctant to give it a go.. but.. what do you know my cousin (let's name her AY) asked if I wanted to be her baking buddy and our first challenge was macarons.. I can't pass an opportunity like that right? So off we went on our challenge to find the best recipe or rather fool-proof and tested recipe.

We ended up following Tartellete website and what was the results??

I hold my breath when i had a "peek" to see the results in the oven. Praying and hoping there will be little happpy feetsss.. and to my surprise (as well as AY surprise)




THERE WAS..!! We were both jumping up and down with joy and I had to refrain myself..saying we're not sure if it will turn out as beautiful when we start filling them up..





AND VOILA.. It didn't disappoint.

I could easily eat a dozen.. LOL.. delicious!!







Next week challenge - Black sesame macarons + rose colour macarons with buttercream filling. Ohhhh I can't wait for the weekend to come!! BRING IT ON!!
