A day in the park

Spring is here!! When you see ladies strutting their heels, with frilly dresses and colours are showing.. you know spring is around the corner.

I love spring..spring is one of my favourite season. Its not too hot.. and not too cold..

With spring comes the compulsory picnic and BBQ.. so we started off with a picnic.

Picnic Menu:
Potato Bacon (YUM!) - Verdict by the judges (in this case just Yong, Daryl, KA and KK) it was a good 8/10 (at least i hope!)
Nuggets (YUM!) - How can you go wrong with store bought chicken nuggets? Easy to prepare fast to pack and goes down well with everyone. Verdict - 9/10
Ham, corn and cheese quiche (Hrmm.. debatable!) - Verdict by the judge - Needs a little bit more work 7/10
Blueberry pie (YUCK!) - OK this has got to be the worst pie anyone has every eaten. it was not even a pie per-se..it is soo horrible i feel like just abandoning my whole post. LOL.. BUTTTT.. i figure i spend the WHOLE Sat afternoon backing it I should at least talk about it.

The cake/pie was meant to be a bluerberry flakky pie.. I am not sure what went wrong..either i use the wrong tray or have use too much ingredients BUT i had to use TWO trays to fill the fillings and it was really wet after 40min in the oven. I put in another 20min and thought it was OK..but today morning when i cut into it..arghhh trouble.. it was NOT cooked thoroughly. It was not wet but you can clearly see its still rawish. I quickly chuck them in the oven for another 30min before our picnic but it could not be rescued. My poor pie has either got to go to the dustbin or KK stomach. LOL.. I opt for the latter. Hopefully he won't disappoint me. Yong, KK and myself took a piece and it was not for the faint heart. It took courage to finish the slice it was thick and really filling.

Anyways.. No photos though for this post.. I forgot to take photos before we pack for the picnic and when we reach the picnic spot..we felt so hungry we abandon the idea of photos and went straight for the food! LOL.

OK.. so the whole experience was not very eventful. But i think it was enjoyable. We had fun - playing games..eating outside..laughing and just enjoying the wonderful sunny weather. It was pure bliss for a Sunday afternoon - as none of us are looking forward to a Monday.

Ahhh...!! How the weekend has flown.
